Guard Not to Patrol Border

US Pres. Bush to address nation tonight on illegal immigrants at 8:00 Pm.

National Guard troops tapped for duty on the border with Mexico will not chase down illegal immigrants but instead will play behind-the-scenes roles in support of border guards, officials said Monday. Among the tasks they are likely to perform over the coming year: training federal Border Patrol guards, building barriers near the border, improving roadways, providing support for aerial and ground surveillance, analyzing and sharing intelligence, and providing communications systems and transportation, the officials said.

Mexico said Tuesday that it would file lawsuits in U.S. courts if National Guard troops on the border become directly involved in detaining migrants. Mexican border officials also said they worried that sending troops to heavily trafficked regions would push illegal migrants into more perilous areas of the U.S.-Mexican border to avoid detection.

So much for it going quietly away. Now the question is. How many become legal citizens. And how much will this tax our already burden down system.

What i don't understand. Susposedly 11 million here illegally. Why that many. Have we not been deporting any over the years. If not i can understand why our border patrol is having problems. What good does it do them to stop them. 11 million people didn't just show up over night.

I know this is a big deal. Due to what it does to our country economically and to our system overall.
But i have to wonder if this isn't a concern, brought to the forefront, to take minds off Iraq.
It is a problem. But we have a bunch of them right now.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, just to name a few.

"This was no issue anywhere except with border states 3 years ago.
The border states have been going ballistic and are even more so now and the regular states have started to pick this up as well.

This has now become a real major national issue.
This will not go away and IMO anyone thinking it will is wrong.
This is going to get worse and worse until you get a revolt IMO.

These people cost many CA billions or more a year to educate, they close down our hospitals, clog our streets with non-insured drivers.
They are making our disabled military heroes homeless compared to illegals with a baby citizen over the issue of housing.
Illegals get the free housing over the disabled Americans.

This is all BS and is going to blow up in Republicans faces if they go for this.
